I explain why Tokyo is mega city.

I have two reason.

First, Kanto Plain is the largest plain in Japan.

Japan have many forest area.

That is actually 70%.（🇺🇸:30%, 🇨🇳:20％)

It is the reason why people gather in large Kanto Plain.

Also, Kanto Plain hava many river. 

(Sumida river, Arakawa river, Edo river ect..)

Second, Tokugawa Ieyasu general made sity in Edo (old name Tokyo) in 1603. 

Daimyo (region lord) and retainer gather in Edo.

18 century, Edo was the biggest sity in World.

19 second half century, Edo become the capital.

Edo changed name to Tokyo.

It is the reason why people gather in large Kanto Plain.
